Welcome to Traynham Ranches. We are located in southern Oregon and northern California. The southern Oregon ranch is located in
the beautiful Rogue Valley in Eagle Point. The northern California ranch is located 50 miles north of Sacramento in Arbuckle where farming is abundant.

Lee and Margaret Traynham started raising Shorthorn cattle in the 1950’s. Then in 1977, a few Angus bred females were purchased from Tehama Angus Ranch to begin our Angus herd. Today, we run 250 registered Angus cows and 20 registered Shorthorn cows. The majority of the registered cattle run on the Oregon ranch. In addition to the registered herd, there are approximately 600 head
of Angus based commercial cows. The commercial cows run in the foothills of Arbuckle during the winter and then come to the high country in Chiloquin, Oregon to spend the summers on strong green forage. We are able to test our own bulls, as we use them in the commercial herd, therefore we demand bulls with a good set of feet and legs, muscle and eye-appeal, who will sire calves that will sell at the top of the market year after year.

Since our beginning we have grown in numbers and quality, which has been carefully planned.  Over the years, we have developed a solid cow base and are continuing to improve our cowherd through
AI and embryo transplant. Our goal has been to produce highly functional cattle that display balanced traits focusing on maternal, performance and marketability. We expect longevity in our females, so our customers can expect the same from us.

Our bulls are marketed in our Annual Bull Sale that is held on the 2nd Monday in October in northern California. At this sale, we sell our Spring yearlings that are 18-month old bulls. Then in February, we sell our Fall yearlings in Klamath Falls, Oregon where we are guest consignors. On occasion, we do consign bulls to the Red Bluff Bull Sale and Klamath Falls Bull Sale. Our bulls are raised just on their mamas, with no creep feed. We primarily offer 18-month to two-year old bulls, because they are a better fit for our customers. These bulls have some age and are ready to go to work right away.

In addition to our bulls, we offer some fancy steer and heifer calf prospects. The steer calves come right off the top of our commercial herd. They possess thickness, eye-appeal and style and most importantly, structural soundness. We have had numerous Champions at various county fairs and jackpot shows in California and Oregon. We do AI to select Club Calf sires, but are highly critical on maternal and structural traits when using AI to these sires. Our Angus females are marketed off the ranch and at select female sales.
